Hockey has been a vital sport in Canada. After all, it's where Wayne Gretzky came from, also known as The Great One and quite a few other NHL stars. In order for all the current and upcoming generations to be able to enjoy the sport, Dodge created the Caravan Kids Program seven years ago and it's still going strong today.
The program helps families who are in need in the local Canada communities. Youth hockey organizations have been donated more than $4 million to help acquire jerseys, offset equipment, endure travel expenses and other costs related to the sport.
So far, well over 8,000 hockey teams in Canada have received the support of the program. This comes to 120,000 players and about 30,000 families who have been aided. Dodge mentioned that if all of the families were in Grand Caravan vehicles, bumper-to-bumper, the line would run from Montreal to Mon Tremblant. Or another way to look at it, it would go halfway from Edmonton and Calgary. How impressive is that?
Such a wonderful initiative, right? Our staff at Robert Green Chrysler Dodge Jeep also thinks it was a brilliant to incorporate the Caravan into the program as the model is a symbol for families and their activities. It's roomy with seven-passenger seats and yet, very safe.
